I am setting up the new Hyper-V cluster based on R2 and would like a
configuration guide. I search and found one for the non-R2 version, but it
does not have information about the CVS and Live Migration.

I guess this will work, though I am not sure about any differences between
Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server Core 2008 R2. Besides
the obvious limitation of restricted Roles, is there any difference I need to
be aware of?

Also, can I fully administer the R2 installation from Vista SP1 or do I need
Windows 7?

Hi,

In the Hyper-V context you don't have to be aware of anything else that's
because is the same virtualization engine. The Hyper-V Manager can be
installed in windows vista and 7 without any problem.
