SCVMM/Hyper-V P2V conversion errors out

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver
Sent: 07/24/2009
From: "Clay" <(email address - cut out)>
Message:

I was running my first P2V conversion today but it would not complete. I
got the error message below. I only have one Hyper-V machine and it is
running 2008 Server core and one Full Windows 2008 Standard 64 bit server
running SCVMM. I have pasted in the error message below. It appears that
it requires my Hyper-V machine to be running web services? Have any of you
seen this error? Any guidance is appreciated.

Clay

*****************************************
Error (2940)

VMM is unable to complete the requested file transfer. The connection to the
HTTP server HYPV_SERVER_CORE.domain.local could not be established.

(Unknown error (0x80072ee2))

Recommended Action

Ensure that the HTTP service and/or the agent on the machine
HYPV_SERVER_CORE.domain.local are installed and running and that a firewall
is not blocking HTTPS traffic.
