I have been trying to install the "The Hyper-V Manager Microsoft Management
Console (MMC) snap-in
" from kb952627 (32 bit version) and get only the following message: "The
update does not apply to your system." I have tried this on several
systems, but the one that I most want it on is a fully updated Vista
Business (sp1, etc). So, what am I missing to get this installed?

Thomas,

It is my experience that this message occurs when either you are attempting
to install this update on a Vista workstation that doesn't have SP1 installed
or the update has already been installed. If it is installed you will still
need to enable the Hyper-V Manager as an additional component of RSAT tools.

In case you aren't familiar, the RSAT tools are enabled from "Programs and
Features" by selecting "Turn Windows features on or off" and selecting the
RSAT features that you want to enable. In this case you will select Hyper-V
manager.

Thanks for the information. I had auto updates turned on and all offered
updates installed. I checked and sure enough, SP1 wasn't installed. No
clue as to why not, but I downloaded it and did a manual install and now all
is well. after the SP1 install and reboot, I was able to install the
Hyper-V Manager without issue.
