Unable to commit undo disk

I am getting an error on only one of my virtual machines that I cannot commit
the undo disk. The other virtuals work fine.

I have the virtual machine shut down and try to merge the undo disk with the
following error:

The undo drives could not be merged. The virtual undo disks failed to merge.
An unexpected error occurred.

Virtual Server was unable to commit the changes made during the current
session of "virtualname". A likely cause of this problem is lack of free hard
drive space, the virtual hard disk file being marked read-only, or the
virtual hard disk file is currently in use. Your changes will be kept for the
next time you start this virtual machine.

Event ID: 1050

I have plenty of free space (170 Gig), the files are not marked as
read-only???

Any suggestions?
