Hyper-V VSS Writer

Message:

I have been reading up on how to use Windows Server Backup to backup my VMs.
I know that you have to set-up the registry setting below to register the
Hyper-V VSS Writer with Windows Server Backup.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT
\CurrentVersion\WindowsServerBackup\Application
Support\{66841CD4-6DED-4F4B-8F17-FD23F8DDC3DE}

The problem I am having is that when I go into Windows Server Backup and try
to perform a Revover the "Applications" radio button is greyed out still. I'm
assuming that an "application" aware piece of software such as SQL Server or
Exchange has to be installed for this to appear?

The server we are using will be our first virtual server and we intend to
run IIS and SQL Server on this. (IIS will be running in a guest and we are
yet to decide whether we want to run SQL Server in the dame guest, a seperate
guest or indeed on the host.

Unlesss I am wrong it just struck me that the "Applications" recovery option
would let me recover more fine-grained items such as individual files and
individual SQL Tables.
