Convert SCSI to IDE

My Config -
Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition
Virtual Server 2005 SP 1 R2 - 1.1.603.0 EE R2 SP1 ( Is this the latest
version available?)

I have been having quite a few problems with virtual SCSI Drives and getting
delayed file write errors. It only seems to happen when I run servers that
have IO that is more than the base OS. eg: SQL, Data, DC Fucntions. Or
sometimes when windows updates runs... So basically I was thinking maybe I
should try the IDE virtual drives. If there is any other ideas I am
definitly open to them.

Also to answer your question, the host machine is quite robust, and I have
identical hardware running VMWare with no issue. I would like to switch all
of my virtual infrastructure to Microsoft, however my confidence is slowly
disappearing as this is quite an annoyance, I have had to rebuild multiple
servers and redesign some of my solutions for data and SQL.
