Blue Screen on Capture

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver
Sent: 07/08/2008
From: "JBradshaw" <(email address - cut out)>
Message:

Trying my first P2V, and it's not going so well.

Ran GatherHW just fine.
Ran vmscript to validate hardware with success
Created migration scripts with success

Started the capture of HD, and on reboot of source machine I got a blue
screen stop error: c0000218 {registry file failure}, registry cannot load
the hive file ....

Oops, screen just went away, can't see it anymore.

Now it just tried to restart and I'm getting an error:

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
hal.dll.

This is one of the files I extracted from sp2 and put in the patches folder.
I know it was there, because vmscript completed without errors.

Any ideas?

Thanks
