Problem installing Server 2008 on Hyper-V

When installing (or trying to install) Server 2008 as a VM O/S on Hyper-V,
the installation stops when it can't find D:\Souces\Install.wim, with an
error code of 0x800701E7.
It would seem, after searching the error, that a number of users have the
same problem. And, it would seem, no definitive answer has been developed.
The file or DVD is not corrupt as it installs on any computer except on
Hyper-V and Virtual Server.
Maybe someone on this group has experienced the problem and found an answer.

It's not an uncommon problem as you say and it's almost always due to
marginal media, but I have seen it with no reason whatsoever.

It'll install a lot from an ISO anyway...

I can't say for sure, but I think I originally started with an ISO and then
burned the disk to see if that would fix it. I think it was downloaded from
Technet..
