VSSRVC.exe spikes CPU with Host Server running Virtual Server 2005

Source: microsoft.public.virtualserver

From: Ace_Mao
Message:

There's a daily trend for CPU load of hosting server (hosting 24 VM Clients)
to go overdrive for 1 hour or 1.5hour period daily. The window service,
vssrvc.exe spiked to over 93% starting at 9:10am daily and ends after 10am or
10:30am.

During the duration of CPU spiked, the heartbeat of all VMs dropped to about
20-30%, after Virtual Server Service recovered in the late morning, all 24
VMs heartbeat resumes back to 100%.

There is no Window Tasks Schedulers Jobs, no Backup Agent or Antivirus
software installed. CPU spiked at exact timing on Saturday and Sunday where
no users login to VM.

Like to seek help from the experts in diagnosting and investigating root
cause of problem, btw, is there a built-scheduler related to CPU with Virtual
Server 2005? If there is, where to disable it or change timing? Thanks a lot.

Below URL are others experiencing the same phenomenon,
