Performance problem solved by SP1 ???

Hi

Some days ago I executed a CPU stress test in 4 VMs at the same time. They
were hosted in a Dell PowerEdge 1800 server, with W2003 Ent. with SP1 and
Virtual Server 2005 R2. This server has 2 dual core Xeon processors. I used a
software called Hot CPU Tester to run the test.

During the test, all the VMs were at 100% CPU, but at the Host I realized
that only 2 of the 4 logical processors were in use. The other 2 were "calm"
=P
If I run the same test on the Host server, all the 4 CPUs got stressed.

Then (after talking to Dell support) I tried to update the chipset driver,
and retested. Nothing happened.
Then I installed SP1 for Virtual Server, and retested. Nothing happened.
Then I installed that latest updates for W2003 (the ones that were available
yesterday), rebooted the server, and retested. Finally, the 4 CPUs were in
use, at 100%.

So the question: what fixed the problem?

I think that the reboot was the key step, and one of the three (chipset
driver, SP1 or updates) fixed the CPU use problem.

Does anyone had the same problem?

Thanks
