Hi,
I never managed to use Virtual server, today I installed the R2 Sp1, but the
problem is still there.

I manage to install it, and the services starts without problem.

When I run the Virtual server administration site i receive followig error :
"Impossibile connettersi a Virtual Server. Accesso negato.
Di seguito è possibile specificare un Virtual Server alternativo."

that in english should be
"Unable to connect to Virtual Server. Access Denied.
Pls specify an alternative server"

Do you have any suggestion ?

I'm running windows xp sp2 witrh all windows update installed on a win2000
domain

Most of the time, IIS isn't configured correctly when you receive this

You might try disabling your antivirus program temporarily to see if
that makes any difference.

Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Since your PC is part of a domain, I wonder if it's a permissions
problem...

Your best bet is to go into the iis control panel and see if the
Virtual Webserver site is started, and if it's not, try and start it
and see what kind of event log errors you might be getting.

On an offhand chance - check the port you're connecting to in your URL. IIS
on XP only supports port 80, yet V/S tries to give you port 1024.

Hi to all,
Many thanks for all ryou reply, but still no way to access Visual server
host using the web interface.

Here some more info :

- I'm in inside a domain and I'm a domain admin and i'm part also of local
administrators group
- The Virtual WebServer in IIS started succcesfully
- In IIS I tried to enable execution of scripts and programs
- When I access the webserver page to administer webserver the page is
loaded, and it show me the logs of virtual services (virtual server started)
, but i cannot connect to my server (localhost) and create any virtual
machine.
- Using the mstsc command I'm able to connect to virtual server on my own
machine ?

Any other suggestions ?
Is there any log that i can enable/check ?

I got same problem. And resolution in Our case is restart www-service.
Services - World Wide Web Publishing services And restart to it.

Problem:
Connected to virtual server 2005 R2 SP1 host using remote desktop connection.
When open Virtual server administration website got HTTP error 500 internal server error.
Default address started with <machineName>:1024
But when use 127.0.0.1:1024 it works!
It works when administer from another computer too.

Solution:
Connect to console.

Yeah, change your url to point to your local IP or to 127.0.0.1.
This seems to be a flaw in IIS and each time you open a window you will have to relog in... (major pain)

I seem to have same problem, I think. The errormessage is the same anyway:

Here is description:
when working on virtual server host pc (WinXP SP2 with VS R2 SP1 and IE7) I
have no problems managing my VMs. Can connect to admin site and do everything
I want.

But! When working on my pc (WinXP SP2 with IE7) I can access admin site, but
on the Master Status page, the part "[hostname] Status" shows errormessage

"Could not connect to Virtual Server. Access was denied.
You can specify an alternate Virtual Server below."

I tested from a Win2000 with IE6 and all works fine. Problem must be on my pc.
The problem started after rebooting host pc for windows updates.
I already experienced problems on the admin site from my pc. I could not get
the RC to display because I never got the downloadscreen or message for the
ActiveX component.
I added the admin site to "thrusted websites" and activated all ActiveX
settings, but no success.

Anybody else having problems with this? I think it's a IE7 problem...

All pc's have recent updates. Also tried all solutions in this thread, but
no success.
