MS virtual server no longer will be developed ???

Today i had a meeting with Novell and Novell is doing virutalisation using
SUSE linux with microsoft. Novell story was :

a) when vmware - gsx came out, microsoft came out free virtual server , and
soon gsx also free.
b) vmware came out esx and everyone knows that its product was far more
superior than ms virtual server.
c) but vmware esx costs are expensive.
d) there is an open source that does virutalisation and its technology are
on par with vmware esx, but FREE !!!
e) the open source is Novell Suse Enterprise and Microsoft have brought 240
million dollars of novell licenses. Everything will be subscriptions based
and this is NOT red-hat linux. Because of this , microsoft do not need to
spend time develop ms virtual server...now i began to think why longhorn
never have virtualisation built in.... And both microsoft and novell will be
suppporting linux Novell Suse enterprise ...

f) i saw the license cost and vmware going to catch up in this model ....as
for its novell suse enterprise features, i have yet to take a look, but
novell says they have the tools on-par or equivalent with vmware ...
