I see lotsa postings but no responses to my own. Does anyone know of
other newsgroups where I should be posting? There aren't too many
Microsoft Virtual Server groups on my ISP's main newsgroup server.

Can you tell us what tool you are using to rip the media into an ISO?
Most of the time the problem is with that tool not preserving a bootable
disc correctly. For instance with WinISO you must use the "ASPI" option
for the ISO to be bootable in a virtual environment.

If you are simply duplicating a physical disc, it should be bootable
without any special conditions, if the original media is.

That's what I thought but is not the case here. The media is bootable
by the machine but not bootable when attempting to create a virtual
machine. I was wondering if there is something about MS-Virtual Server
that I am unaware.

Essentially, a duplicated disc boot on a machine but not within the
virtual environment.
