I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit as host and installed VS2005R2SP1 RC1.
Now I try to install Vista as a guest from DVD. It starts with "Windows is
loading files ..." on a DOS like screen and does not proceed beyond that.

My host system has a Optiarc DVD RW AD-7170A ATA Device.

I had this both with a selfmade DVD from a Technet downloaded ISO-file and
from a original Technet DVD.
Others recognize this problem? Any solutions?

Maybe this is normal: the time that I done this myself - installing Vista on
a VPC 2007 virtual machine using WinXP as the host, the installation has
stalled at this exact step for more than half of an hour. I don't remember
the exact length of time but it was extremely long; beyond anything
reasonable.

If you can have the hardware-assisted virtualisation and have not enabled it
(or disabling it if it's already enabled on your system), doing so could
potentially greatly diminush the installation time of Vista.
