High speed USB Printers

I just bought an Epson 7000 all in one printer. I have
updated all of the current drivers for it. I have the latest updates
for Windows XP, SP2. The printer/scanner works with my eMac,with OS
10.2.8, with all the latest updates for the printer. When in the
Window XP, it is unable to communicate with the printer. A window
appears in short, you need to install a High Speed USB host
controller.. First of all what is that, and will it work if I get
one.
Will VPC be able to emulate that? I am convinced that after
hours of trying to get the XP to communicate with the new Printer,
that it is the emmulation system that is the problem.. It sounds like
that might be true from a recent post in this group. So am I SOL, or
is there a way I can print with this new machine? I have installed
all updates in both Windows, and the Mac. I have done a clean up and
re-install on the XP.
Thanks for any help,
Gary
