VPC 2007 "stutters"

Source: microsoft.public.virtualpc
Sent: 02/22/2009
From: Markus Betz <(email address - cut out)>
Message:

I had already posted a message under the subject "VPC video output
sometimes hangs for a moment" on 2009-02-17. But I now have more facts
for a more precise description:

I can install either
(A) VPC 2004 on Windows 2000 or
(B) VPC 2007 on Windows XP. ¹)

For (A) all is ok. The virtual PC runs fluently and echoes keyboard
input immediately.

For (B) the PC sometimes seems to stop for a second. I can type a
complete word of about 5 letters before I see it. Also the cursor of a
Windows command prompt or a Linux shell does not always blink in equal
intervals. This is a distinct symptome. Just have a try and stare at the
cursor for 10 or 20 seconds and see yourself.

What is going on there? Has anyone but me noticed this?

Markus

¹) VPC 2007 refused to be installed in Win2K, and VPC 2004 is
extremely slow and reluctant on WinXP (looks like the symptoms
described above but is much much much more bad).
