I am new here. I wonder if someone now with antivirus (freeware) I can use
in virtual pc (winxp) that works and don't take a lot of memory?

Not your host unless you use shared folders, but if the VM accesses
the Internet it's wise to run AV...

The thing to remember here, as with the vast majority of Virtual PC
questions, is that a virtual machine is *exactly the same* as a physical
machine as far as the software (OS and apps) installed and running on it is
concerned.

So, if you had just bought a new physical machine and added it into your
network, would you install anti-malware software on it? Of course you would!
Therefore, you need to do the same with any virtual machine which has access
to the Internet.

Yes, I do have Internet access, tho I have not set up shared folders yet. So
I installed AVG Free software, rather than add Norton 360, which I use on the
host Vista machine. I didn't want to slow the VM down more than necessary.
