Hmm - might you have, unfortunately, found the VM Server Additions for
Linux...?
What exactly do you mean by "copied it into the Virtual PC"? The VM
Additions are applications which are installed on each guest, not a patch or
update for Virtual PC itself...
To install the VM Additions in a supported guest, do the following:
1) Launch VPC
2) Start the guest
3) When the guest is running, on the VPC console menu click File, Install or
Update Virtual Machine Additions

Install Virtual Machine Additions is a menu item in the guest window
(in the Action menu).
When it is activated VPC2007 automatically "puts" a CD with the setup
program into the running guest's CD/DVD drive and if you have Autoplay
activated the setup program starts.
No need ever to download anything at all, chances are you will get a
version conflict if you do. The VMA CD that VPC2007 puts into the
drive is the correct version for the VPC2007 program level.

So that you know... The file I found "VMAdditionsSTD" Windows Installer.
I know now that was the wrong file. I did'nt realize the file to be
installed was part of the download of VM2007. Thanks again.
