Virtual PC continually restarts

Hi everyone,

I have a system with multiple virtual systems for testing purposes. One of
the them is now continually restarting Windows, the Windows splash screen
appears and then before the desktop appears the screen goes black and the
virtual PC restarts. This goes on for as long as you let it run.

The core OS is Windows XP Pro, SP3. I would prefer to not have to re-create
the virtual PC simply because the issue could arise again and a more elegant
solution would end up saving time. Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

What would you do if the VPC was a physical machine? Have you tried
starting in Safe Mode, or checking to see if CMOS is looking correct?
You don't say what the faulting VPC operating system is (if you mean by
"core" the host system).

What do you mean by "core OS"? Do you mean the OS on the host? If so, what
OS is on the guest...?

Exactly the same as if the virtual machine were a physical machine...

1) Start it in safe mode

2) Move the virtual hard disk into another virtual machine as a secondary
hard disk, check it for errors, virus check it
