And what was the response in the VMWare support forums when you posted in
there, quoting the failure messages and a copy of the log...?

Message:No response yet, but I think I am going to be on my own. What I'm really
looking for is a way to the the Pervasive installer to run on Virtual PC
2007.
Thanks,

Message:It's XP Professional, and it was up to service pack 3 by the time I starting
to have issues.
The Pervasive SQL software is the 2000i client. I could upload it.
Normally it sits in the SQL Server's directory in a "Client" Folder and is
put in place as a part of the server installation. As far as I know, the
only way to get the client is as part of a server installation. Once the
Installer starts running it is going to be looking for a server, but the
issue is simply getting the installer to start running in the first place.
I was hoping that there were some "compatibility" settings that could be
tweaked.
If you would like me to zip up the client and upload it, no problem.
Thanks!

Where would you like me to send it? Or you can download it. I loaded it
onto an FTP site, or I can use Yousendit...

Message:As far as licensing issues, should not be a problem as the client is pretty
useless by itself and it is now an unsupported product.

Which version of XP is running on the VM?
Is the software that you're trying to install available for download from
somewhere?

simply can't get the install program to run.
Thanks for taking a look at it.
