Virtual PC can"t see flash drive

I just set up a virtual pc on a Vista Home Premium host and XP Pro guest.
The guest cannot see my flash drive when I insert it into the USB drive. Can
someone advise me please?

It never will. VPC does not support access to your usb ports from a guest.
Only usb mice and keyboards are supported and they appear to the guest as
PS/2 devices. Sorry. If you have installed the virtual machine additions
you can set a shared folder but that is all.

it and give it a drive letter.

2)Select the drive in Windows Explorer and rightclick and select
Sharing and Security

3) Enter the Share data in the dialog

4) Now go to the guest OS and in Windows Explorer there use "Tools/Map
Network Drive" on the menu and enter the shared drive data there.

Done.

One caveat: you need to make sure the Shared Folders option is enabled in the
console for the VM iterate.
