Advice on setting up a virtual collaborative environment

Source: microsoft.public.virtualpc

Message:

I want to test a collaborative environment which will entail running multiple
copies of identical environments (ie. few vista, few xp, few linux). The
windows OS's will be members of an AD domain.

How do I do this?

I assume that the procedure would be something like
1. create a single VHD for each OS without adding windows clients to the
domain
(or adding then syspreping?)
2. mark the VHD read only
3. create differencing disks and VM's for each simulated user
4. boot each child vm one at a time, change the IP, add to the domain,
configure for individual user

I should then be able run them all at once (as memory supports).

Is this correct? Am I forgetting anything? Foresee any problems?

Thanks, bob
