Hardware virtualization support and images with out it

I just made a couple of virtualization images then found out that my machine
supports Hardware support for vitualization. Whith hardware support turned on
the previously made images could not be opened. Is there a way to use the
previous images with hardware support ,or do I just have to make new ones
with hardware support turned on and chalk it up to another learning
experience?
