Realtek RTL8169 not recognized by VPC2007

I am running Vista Business 32bit as Host OS on my notebook, and network
components run fine. Installed Virtual PC 2007 and VPC2007 has four options
for networking:

1. Not Connected
2. Local Only
3. Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
4. Shared Networking (NAT)

On another notebook, we are running Vista Business 32bit, and the Realtek
RTL8168 network adapter appears as an option in the VPC settings.

The Virtual Machine additions are installed on both virtual computers. I
have updated the drivers to the latest revision, without change.

Any suggestions to get the NIC RTL8168 as an option with VPC?

Sorry, I understand the source of confusion: some of my post is missing. The
issue is my notebook has a Realtek RTL8169 NIC and the 3945ABG wireless. The
3945ABG shows as a networking option. The RTL8169 does not show up as an
option, so the Guest OS cannot directly access the local network when a WLAN
is unavailable.

The other notebook is almost identical, but both wired (RTL8168) and
wireless (3945ABG) adapters appear as options and work ok.

Was the computer connect to the network with the 8169 or the 3945 when you
installed VPC? I once had to reinstall with an NIC connected to the network
to get things right.

The wireless NIC works OK, and that option was already checked. The Realtek I
cannot get VPC to recognize is an Ethernet NIC.

Thanks to Bo Berglund's post, I have found the problem. I've read posts
about wireless cards not recognizing and "Virtual Machine Network Services"
had to be manually enabled. On our other notebook, both network cards had
VMNS enabled by default.
On this notebook, VMNS was only enabled on the wireless. After I opened the
properties of the wired NIC, I found VMNS was not enabled by default.
After enabling VMNS, I am now able to use the Realtek RTL8169 with Virtual
PC 2007.
